About Property Lawyer
Property Lawyer NI has brought together a group of experienced and reputable lawyers throughout Northern Ireland who specialise in the legal formalities involved in buying, selling and mortgaging property in Northern Ireland. And better still, we have made the costs to be paid by you for their service as transparent and as competitive as possible.
For most people buying or selling a property is the most stressful thing they will do. For the lawyer, whilst sometimes stressful, it is perhaps one of the more focused areas of practice i.e. the sale/ purchase is agreed with the agent, the solicitors are appointed, the deeds are put together, the searches are carried out, the contract is signed, a completion date is agreed, mortgage documents are finalised, the money is got together and on the day of completion the money goes one way and keys go the other. There is an agreed starting point and an obvious end.
So what’s all the fuss about? Its probably because there is a lot of hard earned money at stake, its probably because the first time buyer has always dreamed of owning their own home, its probably because the couple think it would be a great home for them and their family, its probably because the house would make a great investment and your banking on it for your pension. A “property” is a lot of different things to different people.
The common denominator in all the above situations is that everyone involved has to employ a lawyer to take care of the legal side (the conveyancing process). A “good” one will make sure all the legal formalities are taken care of, explain things to you, keep you informed and up to date, keep things on track, get the transaction completed, keep you right and do all this with as little fuss as is humanly possible. A “not so good one” will do none of those things and might even charge you more than the good one!
